Xavier Pétremand received a Master of Law degree from the Law School of the University of Geneva in 1994 and completed the International Trade Law Programme of the Geneva Graduate Institute of International Studies in 1998. He started practicing law as an associate at the Geneva office of Schellenberg & Haissly (now Schellenberg Wittmer) and was admitted to the bar in 1997. He then gained further experience in the business-oriented Law Office of Robert P. Briner in Geneva, before being offered a position with Bourgeois Muller Pidoux & Partners, in Lausanne, in 2000. His practice is focused on corporate, contract and financial law, business transactions, trademark law, commercial litigation and insolvency law. He has also a significant expertise in international estate and trust issues, inheritance tax, relocation and a range of private client matters.
Xavier Pétremand is a member of the Bar Association of the Canton of Vaud, the Swiss Bar Association, the Geneva Business Law Association and the International Bar Association (IBA).
